Jim Levy's Story
A few short memories:
I was a DU student and--like so many students around the country--was an ardent opponent of the Vietnam war.
I remember how Woodstock West just kind of emerged--seemingly overnight.
And if memory serves, I seem to remember that it was knocked down by the "authorities" and quickly re-built.
I also clearly remember when the National Guard was deployed. I thought, "What a stupid move--bringing out armed soldiers to watch over a bunch of stoned (many of us) peace-seeking (all of us) individuals.

Jim - you and I sat in a smokey shack together. What were they thinking? Why are we all not there now as war continues to envelop our country?

Jim,
You are right about Woodstock West being knocked down. In fact, it was first knocked down by the police but was immediately rebuilt. Then the guard was brought in and Woodstock West was demolished for the final time.
Thanks so much for chiming in with your story. Check back often for the stories of other folks!
